Korn Alley mural painting underway in Newport
NEWPORT, N.H. — Progress photos for the upcoming mural installation in Newport’s Korn Alley are pouring in from artists. It’s interesting to see the process and progression of this mural of “Skating on the Newport Common” by artist Mary (Dupont) Georgilas. She really captured the heart of this favorite Newport pastime.
Mural panels are currently being painted by 20 artists in studios across the region before they will return to the Library Arts Center in early April to be UV clear-coated in preparation for hanging at the mural site downtown.
These public art pieces will bring so much life to Newport’s Downtown Historic District in a celebration of what makes this region a special place to call home.
