Stevens, Newport, Sunapee alums playing college sports this winter

Stevens 

Kiley Bundy, Keene State College, Women’s Basketball 

The freshman guard had the fourth highest scoring average for the Owls this season, averaging 5.9 points per game in 24 appearances off the bench. Bundy scored a season-high 19 points during a victory against conference foe Plymouth State on Dec. 11. Bundy helped Keene State to an 8-8 record in conference play this season. 

Alyssa Paquette, Eastern Connecticut State, Women’s Basketball 

The 6’0″ sophomore forward has appeared in 37 games for the Warriors during her two seasons with the program. Paquette’s career highs include an 11-point performance against Muhlenberg and a 10-rebound output against Lasell. Eastern Connecticut State posted a 10-6 record in Little East Conference play this season before falling to Bundy’s Keene State squad in the LEC quarterfinals.   

Newport 

Kyle Ashley, Naval Academy Preparatory School, Indoor Track & Field 

The 2024 graduate of Newport High School has represented the Naval Academy Prep School in a couple of meets this winter. Ashley finished third in shot put at the UMass Boston Beacon Season Opener and fifth in shot put at the USATF-New England Indoor Track & Field Championships. Ashley is undoubtedly looking forward to the outdoor track & field season, where he will be able to put his talent on full display in javelin.  

Josh Sharron, American International College, Wrestling 

The senior grappler competed for two seasons at Wheeling University in West Virginia before transferring to AIC. Competing in the 149-pound weight class, Sharron opened this season with three wins and a pin at the Ithaca Invitational.  

Sunapee 

Annaliese Rowell, Colby-Sawyer College, Indoor Track & Field  

The freshman hurdler first broke the 11 second barrier in the 60-meter hurdles at the Plymouth State Invitational on Jan. 18, where she placed eighth in 10.99 seconds. Rowell proceeded to beat her personal bests in both attempts at the Yankee Small Conference Invitational on Feb. 1. Rowell dashed to a 10.72 second result in the preliminaries before placing seventh in the finals in 10.82 seconds.
