CONCORD, N.H. — The American Red Cross recognizes Eversource Energy for its generous $30,000 donation to assist families affected by home fires. With this commitment, Eversource joins the Red Cross Ready 365 Giving Circle and helps ensure the organization can respond to emergencies throughout the year.
Each year, the Red Cross responds to about 65,000 disasters, the vast majority of which are home fires. Here in New Hampshire, the Red Cross responded to more than 120 home fires in 2024, assisting more than 550 Granite Staters. After a home fire, Red Cross volunteers work with fire departments to connect with families to provide support including emergency lodging, financial assistance and emotional support. This generous donation helps ensure the Red Cross has the resources needed to deliver immediate aid to our communities during times of disaster.
“We are grateful for partners like Eversource that share in our mission to be there for families facing unimaginable loss,” said Stephanie Couturier, regional CEO, Red Cross of Northern New England. “Their generosity helps us provide relief and hope to those rebuilding their lives after devastating home fires.”
Additionally, Griffin Roberge, Eversource manager of government affairs, was recently appointed to the Red Cross New Hampshire Chapter Board of Directors, further strengthening Eversource’s commitment to community resilience and disaster relief efforts.
“The Red Cross supports people through some of the most difficult moments of their lives, offering them much needed resources during a time when they may have lost everything,” said President of the Eversource Foundation and Vice President of Corporate Citizenship and Equity Theresa Hopkins-Staten. “We’re proud to be able to contribute to their critical mission, which provides compassion, care and hope to families who need it most across the communities we both serve.”
