Debra A. Bedard

CHARLESTOWN, NH— Debra Ann Bedard, 75, of Charlestown, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Known affectionately as Debbie to her family and friends, she lived a life defined by compassion, strength, and a deep commitment to caring for others. She was born in Marlborough, MA on April 5, 1949.

A lifelong caregiver, Debbie earned her Licensed Practical Nurse certification from the Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital Nursing Program and worked diligently toward her Registered Nurse license. Her nursing career spanned decades, including serving veterans at the VA Hospital in Durham and later as a devoted school nurse, where she continued to impact the lives of children and families in her community.

Debbie was the beloved wife of Gary Bedard and the cherished mother of John “Jay” Harlow (Brigette) and Deanna Armstrong (Rob). She was predeceased by her brother Daniel Lund, her parents Mary and Frank Lund, and her granddaughter Trisha DeCapua.

She leaves behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren: Tiffany DeCapua, Joseph Harlow, Justin Armstrong, Ethan Preston, and Emilia Harlow; and in her great-grandchildren: Katelyn and Bryson Whitcomb, Kiera Harlow, Arianna, Alexander, and Aiden Hayes, and Christopher and Jenna Danyow.

Family meant everything to Debbie. She treasured game nights filled with laughter, especially playing Uno with her grandchildren. She also found joy and connection playing Mahjong with her close circle of friends. Her warmth, sharp wit, and nurturing spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Debbie’s memory to the American Cancer Society, a cause close to her heart.

Calling hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont, on Wednesday, March 26th from 5-7PM and Thursday, March 27th from 5-7PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held St Mary Church on Friday, March 28th at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
