WALPOLE, N.H. — The Cheshire County Conservation District announces the departure of District Manager Amanda Littleton.
For 18 years, Littleton has served in the district manager role. Throughout her tenure, she has provided outstanding leadership in natural resources conservation, local food system development, and has supported the region’s working landscapes.
Since 2008, she has secured and managed over $4.5 million in grants and agreements that support and promote the conservation and stewardship of the region’s natural and agricultural resources and rural communities.
In addition to managing the Conservation District’s grant programs, Littleton has expanded the Conservation District’s educational and community engagement programs. Programs have ranged in offering educational opportunities to farmers on soil health management practices through Equipment Field Days, expanding local food access at CSA farms throughout our region through the Monadnock Farm Share Program, increasing the viability of local farms through Community Supported Solar, improving wildlife habitat through stream restorations and pollinator habitat installations, and inspiring connection and accessibility to nature through Monadnock Outdoors.
Andy Pressman, Board Chair of The Cheshire County Conservation shared, “Amanda is a true champion for conservation. She has brought together countless numbers of farmers, foresters, educators, and community members to support conservation efforts in Cheshire County and whose impact will be measured for generations to come. Her leadership is recognized nationally, and CCCD’s Board of Supervisors and Associates couldn’t be happier for her in her new position. We are excited about this new chapter for CCCD and in recognition of being New Hampshire’s oldest conservation district.”
The Conservation District is immensely grateful to Littleton for her leadership and commitment to the community and wishes her well in her transition to her new role as executive director of the Monadnock Conservancy. She will assume her responsibilities as executive director of Monadnock Conservancy on May 1, 2025.
On her role with the Conservation District, Littleton shared, “I am grateful for my time at the Conservation District, and I will forever value the opportunity to work with, and learn from, the farmers and community members who care so deeply for the land. I will take these lessons forward and continue the work to serve the community and conserve what makes the Monadnock region so special.”
The Cheshire County Conservation District is thrilled to continue to offer their program, grant, and workshop opportunities which focus on the conservation of soil, water, wildlife, and farm viability.
