Celebrate Trails Day on April 26 in Newport 

NEWPORT, N.H. — Celebrate Trails Day on Saturday, April 26, with three fun outdoor events in Newport. 

Event number one is to hike The Pinnacle. Gather at the parking lot north of the Middle High School track at 9 a.m. to enjoy a hike led by the Conservation Commission. The hike is to the top of the Pinnacle (1.1 miles up, with three short steep sections) and 1.25 miles back, about a 90-minute round trip.  

Event number two is to walk along the Sugar River Trail. Meet at the parking lot at 4 Greenwood Road in North Newport at 4 p.m. to enjoy a four-mile round trip walk to Kellyville.  

Event number three is to bike along the Sugar River Trail. Gather at the same parking lot as event number two, at 4 Greenwood Road in North Newport at 1 p.m. We will be biking a nine-mile round trip to Newport’s Covered Rail Bridges.
