CLAREMONT, NH — Richard Benton Adams, Jr., age 63, passed away on Monday, February 3rd, 2025. He was born on December 20th, 1961 in Lebanon, New Hampshire to the late Richard Benton Adams, Sr., and the late Nancy Lee King Short.
Richard was a 1981 graduate of Stevens High School of Claremont, NH. He held a long career as a manager with Plastic Suppliers Inc. of Columbus, Ohio and had since been retired. He served as an ammunition specialist and as a sergeant in the US Army, with tours of duty stateside and overseas service in Friedberg, Germany, and having received many awards and recognition. He proudly served his country over eight years.
Richard leaves behind his daughter Ashley Adams Johnson (Joshua); son Christopher Adams (Isabella); one grandson Dylan Adams; one maternal aunt and a host of cousins. Preceded in death are Richard’s father and mother and step-father Charles H. Short.
Richard will be remembered as an intelligent, unique, kind hearted soul; as having a silly personality, and as history’s greatest classic movie enthusiasts of all time!
A Celebration of Life will be held at Stringer Funeral Home in Claremont, NH on Friday, May 9th, 2025 with visitation from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. Visitation will be followed by a final tribute with the playing of Taps and the flag ceremony at the funeral home, concluding with a brief service/eulogy.
