CLAREMONT, N.H. — More than 30 years ago, Claremont took the fight for fair school funding to the New Hampshire Supreme Court and won. But the battle didn’t end there, and in many ways, it never ended at all.
You can expect a guided conversation with Andru Volinsky, co-hosted by Tom Connair (an attorney and the original organizer of the legal effort in the Claremont case), followed by audience Q&A and book signing.
In his new book “Last Bake Sale,” Volinsky looks at what has and hasn’t changed in the way the state funds education. It’s a frank, smart, and sometimes frustrating account of a system still failing many communities.
This event is more than a book signing. It’s a conversation about where we’ve been, what still needs fixing, and what kind of future we’re willing to build for New Hampshire’s kids.
This event is on Thursday, May 8 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Claremont Savings Bank Community Center. It is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served.
